Top TV Channel Expands Craft Offer

One of the UK's leading shopping channels has revealed it is to extend the broadcast hours of its hugely-popular craft shows, further proving the resilience of the industry.
Ideal World Interactive – which is currently one of the sectors most profitable organisations – has announced it will be increasing its on-air Create and Craft programming from five days a week to seven. The channel is already available on Sky and Freesat, and was launched on Freeview earlier this year.
The channel's decision to expand its craft offer is testimony to the rapidly rising interest in the sector and further demonstrates the growing interest in TV shopping channels as a whole.
Ideal World has had a strong year and expects to see sales of its craft supplies exceed £25 million by the end of the year. Commenting on the business's decision to extend its craft show schedule, chief executive Mike Hancox, says, "We continue to invest in our Freeview offering by creating new specialist channels for our customers to enjoy. We look forward to the end of 2010 when it will be available to more than 98% of households in the UK."
